CODEBASE INTELLIGENCE
Make better decisions about your codebase.
Code Tuner provides codebase intelligence that helps organisations understand where technical work deserves attention — and where it doesn’t.
Measure technical debt, complexity and codebase health. Identify priority areas. Direct engineering capacity where it can create the greatest value.

Put engineering capacity where it matters.
Technical debt does not build evenly across a software estate.
Some areas may require intervention. Others may need monitoring. Others may be healthy enough to continue developing without additional technical work.
Code Tuner gives teams the evidence to distinguish between them.
01
Fix what matters
Identify areas where complexity, technical debt or other indicators justify closer investigation.
02
Monitor what can wait
Track areas that show emerging signals without committing engineering capacity too early.
03
Keep building
Avoid unnecessary remediation where the evidence does not support intervention.
A CUSTOMER PERSPECTIVE
From codebase complexity to business context.
Code Tuner helped us understand not just that technical debt existed, but where it was located within our software ecosystem and why that mattered to the business.
The real value was in connecting a specific area of technical complexity to the operational and commercial workflows it supported. That allowed us to see how an aspect of our software could have a much wider impact on business performance and the bottom line.
Rather than treating technical debt as a broad engineering issue, Code Tuner gave us a clearer way to prioritise development attention. It helped us identify where engineering effort could be targeted most precisely to reduce risk, improve confidence, and protect business value.
For a software-led business, that level of context is extremely valuable. Code Tuner moved the conversation from generic code quality to commercially relevant decision-making.

MEASURE THE SYSTEM
Codebase evidence for better decisions.
Code Tuner analyses software at system level to build a clearer picture of its condition and how it is changing.
Depending on the analysis, this can include:

Complexity and maintainability
Understand where software may be becoming harder to change.
Technical debt and code smells
Identify signals that warrant further engineering investigation.
Coupling and cohesion
See where dependencies and structure may create additional change risk.
Change hotspots
Understand which areas of the codebase are changing most frequently.
Trends over time
Track whether software health is improving, remaining stable or deteriorating.
Benchmarks
Add context by comparing codebase characteristics across technologies and datasets.
FOR THE DECISIONS AHEAD
One evidence base. Different decisions.
For Business Leaders
Direct engineering investment more effectively.
Understand where technical conditions may justify additional expenditure and where engineering capacity can remain focused on growth.
For Product Teams
Prioritise technical work with greater confidence.
Bring measurable codebase evidence into decisions about features, maintenance, refactoring and roadmap capacity.
For Engineering Teams
Support engineering judgement with system-level evidence.
Make technical concerns easier to investigate, track and communicate beyond the engineering team.
HOW IT WORKS
From source code to decision-ready evidence.
01
Analyse
Code Tuner measures characteristics of your software across repositories and components.
02
Understand
Results highlight where important signals are concentrated and how they are changing.
03
Prioritise
Teams combine this evidence with engineering knowledge, product priorities and commercial context.
04
Act
Intervene where it matters. Monitor where appropriate. Keep building where you can.
Technical debt is an allocation problem.
Technical debt can consume meaningful engineering capacity. McKinsey research found that CIOs reported 10–20% of technology budgets dedicated to new products being diverted to technical-debt issues.
But simply assigning a fixed maintenance budget does not solve the problem.
The challenge is determining which technical debt is important enough to act on.
Code Tuner is designed to provide evidence for that decision.
Read-only by design.
Code Tuner analyses source code without modifying or executing it.
Source code is processed for analysis and is not retained by Code Tuner.
Code Tuner measures the software system — not individual developers.

FAQs
What is Code Tuner?
Code Tuner is a codebase intelligence platform that analyses technical debt, complexity, maintainability and other software characteristics to provide evidence for engineering investment and prioritisation decisions.
Does Code Tuner tell teams what to fix?
No. Code Tuner identifies and measures signals within the software. Engineering, Product and business teams use that evidence alongside their own context to decide what action is appropriate.
Is Code Tuner a developer productivity tool?
No. Code Tuner measures characteristics of software systems. It is not designed to rank developers or assess individual developer productivity.
